Sims has been charged with possession with intent to distribute marijuana, providing contraband to a prisoner and trespassing, reports SCDC, thanking the McCormick County Sheriff’s Department for its assistance.
According to Deaton Law Firm, possessing any more than one ounce (28 grams) of cannabis in South Carolina can be treated as a distribution crime. Possession with intent to distribute is a felony charge and penalties include a fine up to US$5,000 ($6,300) and/or up to five years in prison, the information adds.
