Report: Columbus man shot while delivering illicit weed in his car takes Uber to hospital

Police called to a reported shooting in northeast Columbus, Ohio just before 1 a.m. on Thursday had no problem finding a bullet-riddled car, but the driver was nowhere to be seen.

It is not clear how much, if any, cannabis was found in the vehicle or on the victim.

Medicinal cannabis is legal in Ohio, recreational weed is not. There are no charges but could be a small fine, for those in the state found to be possessing 100 to 200 grams of cannabis, according to Super Lawyers.

Potential punishments increase with the amount of cannabis. For example, the information notes that a person holding one to 20 kilograms of weed can face fines of US$5,000 ($6,300) to US$10,000 ($12,600), as well as a maximum of five years in prison.
