38-year-old man charged with robbing Lethbridge, Alta. cannabis store

A 38-year-old man has been charged with robbery, assault with a weapon and possession of a weapon dangerous to the public in connection with a robbery at the Westcan Cannabis store in Lethbridge, Alta.

Fortunately, there were no injuries in this case, but cannabis stores on both sides of the border have been targeted.

Earlier this summer in Massachusetts, a man accused of using a BB gun to rob a legal cannabis dispensary is believed to have become the first person to hit a weed store since legalization took effect in the state. The 51-year-old man has been charged with armed robbery “for his alleged involvement in the incident,” notes a tweet from the Haverhill Police Department.
