Report: Jay-Z calls for compassionate release of man who could spend 20 years in prison over weed

According to a motion filed this week in a North Carolina court, obtained by Page Six, lawyer Alex Spiro is arguing to reconsider an earlier denial, reportedly based on Valon Veailes’ COVID-10 vaccination record, and to order a “compassionate release.”

Filed in August, that motion for compassionate release detailed that Veailes had been a model inmate and did not present a recidivism risk. The second motion reportedly does not mention any pandemic-related argument and argues the compassionate
