Neighbours paid ‘real’ money to live next to Snoop Dogg’s digital real estate

Living next door to Snoop Dogg, even if only digitally, was enough of a draw for several people to shell out more than a million dollars recently.

According to Merry Jane, three people playing the Ethereum-based game Sandbox apparently felt that location, location, location was hot enough to shell out big bucks to build digital homes next to Snoop Dogg’s.

In all, three players paid for the non-fungible token plots using SAND, a currency in which each unit translates to about US$8 ($10.16). The reported payouts would have translated to US$458,000 ($581,660), $410,000 ($520,700) and $338,000 ($429,260), Merry Jane reports.
