Accused allegedly tried to strangle man who asked for his cannabis pipe back

A simple request to return a borrowed cannabis pipe apparently so angered a Northern Mariana Islands man that he allegedly tried to strangle the original pipe owner and slapped the man’s girlfriend.

The recent incident unfolded on Jan. 4 in San Antonio, the publication cites court documents as reporting. Arriving on the scene to investigate a disturbance, the victim told police a text message asking that the accused return his pipe set the man off.

The accused responded by making his way to the victim’s apartment, where he began shouting, cussing the victim and reportedly threatening to kill or beat him.

It is reported the accused then aggressively approached the victim, grabbed his shirt and began to strangle him with one hand.
