Cops use Grindr and other dating apps to arrest 60 people selling drugs

About five dozen people looking for “love” in all the wrong places ended up being arrested on drug charges, including for cannabis, following recent raids by the Polk County Sheriff’s Office (PCSO) in Florida.

All illicit transactions were made over three different social media and dating mobile apps, namely Grindr, Scruff and Taimi. Grindr, however, appeared to be the preferred vehicle, racking up the most contacts leading to illegal sales.

The arrests follow a six-month undercover investigation, called Swipe Left for Meth, by PCSO’s narcotics detectives and eight search warrants executed based on the suspected sale and/or possession of illegal narcotics, note the police.
