Edible sales outpaced traditional cannabis products in 2021, with sales growing to 20.4% or $1.38B total retail sales.
Gummies dominated the U.S. edibles market, particularly among new cannabis consumers. This product type accounted for nearly $1 billion in retail sales last year, capturing more than 70% of the category’s share across six recreational cannabis markets.
Carmels, chews, and taffy products also saw growth in 2021. Edibles seem to be growing as new customers willing to try cannabis products shy away from inhalation as a consumption method.
