Man trying to evade police caught after ditching backpack full of cannabis

A 29-year-old man spotted by Nashville, Tenn. police left a short trail of evidence as he dropped a gun and a backpack full of cannabis while fleeing the scene.

Consent was received and a search of the apartment further revealed six bags of cannabis weighing about 266 grams inside a washing machine.

Although the charge or charges against the man were not specified, recreational cannabis remains illegal in Tenn.

Per My Tennessee Defense Lawyer, a person charged with simple possession or casual exchange of cannabis faces a misdemeanour charge punishable by a maximum of a year in jail and a fine of as much as $3,175.
