On April 1, the sale of recreational cannabis will begin in New Mexico under legislation signed by Gov. Michelle Lujan Grisham. Under the new regulations, Native American tribes can now participate.
The Pueblos of Pojoaque and Picuris signed an agreement to regulate their cannabis businesses within their communities. The tribes can also apply for state permits for any cannabis companies they would operate outside of tribal lands.
