Report of masked men trying to enter home leads to discovery of 95 cannabis plants

A group of balaclava-clad men seeking entry to a U.K. home has led to the discovery of cannabis grow.

Cautions about electricity being stolen to run cannabis grows is a common refrain from police but, earlier this year, it became a reality for a neighbourhood in the Nottinghamshire region of England.

An industrial unit housing 300-plus cannabis plants was bypassing the electrical meter and extracting so much power to fuel the illegal enterprise that “the rest of the estate was experiencing power cuts,” reported the Nottinghamshire Police.

A search of the property led to the arrest of two men and police estimated the operation was dodging tens of thousands of pounds worth of electricity bills.
