Canada Border Services Agency seizes nearly 900 kilograms of cannabis set for export

In May, with the assistance of a detector dog and other tools, the agency recovered 1,036 vacuum-sealed bags of suspected cannabis from a marine container set for export. A month later, officers examined another shipment set for export and recovered 300 kilograms of pot in 100 vacuum-sealed bags.

Earlier this month, CBSA agents, working alongside the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP), seized 30 kilograms of cocaine from a commercial truck that entered Canada at the Ambassador Bridge port of entry in Windsor, Ont.

Two men from Winnipeg, aged 50 and 31, were later charged with the importation of cocaine and the possession of cocaine for the purpose of trafficking. They are due in court in Windsor next month, while the investigation remains ongoing.
