The distinctive scent of cannabis coming from a 15-year-old at the Godby High School in Tallahassee, Fla. sparked a teacher to lead the pupil to the administrator’s office, where a check of his backpack revealed illegal weed and a loaded 9 mm handgun.
The 15-year-old has been charged with possession of cannabis and possession of a firearm on school property.
Possessing or discharging a weapon on or near school property in Florida is a second-degree felony and can mean up to 15 years in prison, per Rossen Law Firm.
