Michigan’s recreational marijuana businesses are on the verge of eclipsing the $10 billion mark in sales, only four years after the adult-use market launched.
Since they began on Dec. 1, 2019, aggregate adult-use sales in Michigan reached roughly $9.7 billion through October, the Bridge Michigan nonprofit news outlet reported, citing state statistics.

That’s an average of $279 million per month, according to the Michigan Cannabis Regulatory Agency.
In October, recreational marijuana sales in the state reached $267.6 million.
That total was down 9% from Michigan’s top sales month in 2024: $294.2 million in August.
Through October, Michigan’s adult-use sales exceeded $2.7 billion for the year.
In 2024, the state’s recreational cannabis market reached roughly $3 billion in sales.
