Canada’s suddenly higher population meant every province saw an increase in its numbers, although few with as drastic a turnaround as New Brunswick. Prince Edward Island’s numbers rose by about 1,200, and the Northwest Territories by under a hundred. Ontario, the largest province in terms of population, added close to 150,000 in the new count.
