Things won’t improve if Chow is re-elected. She’ll likely become more emboldened to hike taxes, increase public spending and make Toronto even less desirable to live and do business in. While the wealthy will be hit hard, the middle class will badly suffer, too. Programs that the latter group desperately need access to will be almost out of reach. The high costs of housing, food, utilities, transit and more for middle-income earners won’t come down anytime soon, either.
