Old age pensioner acquitted of cannabis trafficking after she was busted with big stash

An Irish, old age pensioner who is legally blind has been acquitted of selling or supplying cannabis. But the reprieve wasn’t enough for the 68-year-old, who is now calling on the country to legalize the drug, especially for those who use it to treat pain.

The prosecutor noted the senior had grown “a very significant amount” of a “very potent strain of skunk,” but her lawyer asked the court if she honestly looked like a drug dealer. “Is it suggested she was walking up and down the square in Tallaght to sell it? Is this Breaking Bad meets Golden Girls?” he reportedly asked in his closing statement.
