The man, who allegedly assaulted and choked his ex-girlfriend the day he got full parole, is free again even though the Correctional Service of Canada recommended against it. In its decision, the parole board ruled that the impact of “colonization, residential schooling, forced assimilation practices and racism” on his life “provides context for your criminality.”
