An Albania national who argued in court he was only the gardener for an illegal grow-op in the U.K. to help pay off his debt will spend the next year in prison.

Failing to convince the sentencing judge, Wales Online reports the man was ordered to spend 12 months in prison, after which he will be deported.
Judge Niclas Parry wholly acknowledged that he had played a “lesser role” in the illegal cannabis factory than others may have, but his actions still contributed to causing “great harm to people.”
The man had earlier pleaded guilty to producing cannabis.
