Amazon open to welcoming back workers and applicants punished for using weed

Amazon has reiterated its support for legalizing cannabis federally and is hoping to show that commitment by disclosing this week that its June decision to stub out weed testing will be retroactive.

The behemoth announced earlier this year that people applying for non-transportation jobs — those not regulated by the U.S. Department of Transportation — would no longer be tested for cannabis. The idea was that people who consumed cannabis on their own time would not be regarded as less attractive prospective workers or be disqualified outright going forward.
