B.C. RCMP make large drug bust while investigating unrelated matter

A recent investigation by Kitimat RCMP officers led to the unintended discovery of a large amount of illicit drugs, as well as firearms and other drug-trafficking items.

The officers were at a local residence in B.C. for an unrelated investigation when they noted a large amount of cash, as well as suspected cocaine and other drug-trafficking paraphernalia.

Police say that no arrests have been made as the investigation is ongoing.

It’s not the first time that drugs have been discovered as part of other investigations.

Earlier this year, more than 6,500 cannabis plants were seized from a grow site in the U.K. while police were in the area for unrelated inquiries. The investigation, instead, led them to a “suspicious industrial unit.”
