A 24-year-old man from Canada was arrested in New York State last week after customs officers found US$24,000 ($30,240) worth of marijuana inside the trunk of his vehicle.

U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) officers working at the Massena, N.Y. Port of Entry discovered the would-be smuggled cannabis after their suspicions were raised during a primary check of the vehicle.
While doing so, a CBP officer received notification from the National Crime Information Center that the affixed vehicle plates were invalid, notes a statement from the CBP. Although the driver was from Canada, the vehicle was registered in New York.
