Cannabis could make an appearance in Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade

Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade returns this week, boasting celebrity appearances from the likes of Mariah Carey, Paula Abdul and Ziggy Marley.

The three-hour event, which ends outside Macy’s Herald Square, may also feature an appearance from cannabis brand Cookies, as its flagship New York City store sits directly across from Macy’s, reports Leafly.

In June, Business Insider reported that Cookies, which operates 49 dispensaries in the U.S. and also retails a popular clothing line globally, is the “world’s first legal $1 billion weed brand.”

Earlier this year, the company partnered with Gage Growth Corp. to open the first Cookies store in Canada in downtown Toronto. In addition to cannabis, the shop retails a large selection of merchandise, with the Cookies clothing making up a significant volume of its sales.
