Cannabis grower flees police via rooftop

A cannabis grower in the U.K. has been arrested after leading police on a short chase and spending about 30 minutes atop a roof.

The judge on the case determined that the operation had connections to Albanian organized crime and that the proceeds from the grow were funding other criminal ventures.

The man, 26, said he was a victim of modern slavery and that he had been brought to the U.K. to work in construction and was attempting to earn money to pay for his mother’s medical care.

An investigation by the Home Office, the government department responsible for immigration and security, determined the man was not a victim of trafficking or modern slavery.
