Driving just six km/h over the speed limit could mean 60-year prison sentence for cannabis counts alone

A bit too much pedal to the metal was enough for South Dakota police to notice a speeding driver who was subsequently found with drugs in his vehicle and could face decades in prison if convicted of two related felonies.

Late last week, the South Dakota Highway Patrol pulled over the man on Interstate-90 just east of Alexandria for driving 84 miles per hour (135 km/h) in an 80 mph (129 km/h) zone.

But that little bit over the speed limit has landed the 33-year-old man in a whole lot of trouble.
