A drug-smuggling attempt reportedly worth more than $2 million was busted on the Israel-Egypt border earlier this week, reports The Times of Israel.
The Jerusalem Post reported that a cannabis legalization advocacy group was behind the special delivery.
“It’s time my dear brothers. Is it a bird? Is it a plane? No, it’s the green drone, handing out free cannabis from the sky … Enjoy my beloved brothers, this is your pilot brother, making sure we all get some free love,” the group reportedly posted on the Telegram messaging app.
Two suspects in their 30s were later arrested by police for their part in the operation.
Last year, the IDF announced it was looking to weed out cannabis consumption within its ranks.
