Finnish PM Sanna Marin passes drug test after accusations fly following video leak

Finland’s prime minister, Sanna Marin, has passed a drug test after unfounded allegations of possible drug use surfaced in the wake of a video leak showing Marin dancing and partying with friends.

Taken last week, the comprehensive test screened for amphetamines, barbiturates, cannabis, dextropropoxyphene, cocaine, methadone and a range of other narcotics, reports The Guardian.

The Finnish government later issued a statement, noting that “no drugs were found” in the test and that the prime minister had paid the costs of the test herself, reports the BBC.

Speaking at a press conference, Marin said that she has never taken any drugs at any point in her life, and though she consumed a “moderate” amount of alcohol her ability to make decisions was unimpaired.

“I hope that in the year 2022, it’s accepted that even decision-makers dance, sing and go to parties,”
