A 40-year-old, former lawyer in Pittsburgh is set to spend at least the next five years in prison for his part in operating a drug stash house.
Per Hornsby Law Firm, “conspiracy to traffic in marijuana occurs when two or more people work together to manufacture, distribute, or dispense marijuana unlawfully.” Federal law states that trafficking 100 to 999 kilograms of cannabis or 100 to 999 plants is “punishable by five to 40 years in prison to be followed by four years of supervised release and up to five million dollars in fines.”
The same prison time applies if convicted of a possession with intent to distribute charge, notes information from the U.S. Attorney’s Office.
