Asked about this at his press conference, Carney said that Trump’s response was “not a surprise,” and argued the new tariffs would hurt workers in Michigan, Ohio, Kentucky and Alabama who “rely on Canadian demand,” while saying that his government remains focused on “co-operation, putting workers, families first, investing in technology.”
