A wrong-headed decision to drive the wrong way up an interstate ramp in Kentucky was more than enough to attract police notice, but the driver’s real trouble unfolded after 55 kilograms of cannabis was found in his vehicle.
Most people know the distinctive skunky smell of cannabis, the source of which a California-based company recently reported it had pinpointed. It attributes this to newly identified “family of compounds,” namely volatile sulphur compounds.
But that wasn’t all that was discovered during the recent traffic stop. Troopers also found suspected methamphetamine and two handguns.
According to the Criminal Defence Lawyer, possessing up to 227 grams of cannabis in the state is treated as a misdemeanour charge punishable by as long as 45 days jail and a fine of $319.
