A 26-year-old man had his birthday plans go bust after police sniffed out his celebratory pot stash.
Despite breaching the conditions of his sentence, the judge opted not to send him to prison. Instead, he was ordered to pay £100 (about $172) to cover court costs as well as a £100 fine.
He fared better than another U.K. man who opted to celebrate the holidays, rather than his birthday, by snapping some photos of his Christmas tree decorated with drugs and cash.
The dopey dealer was later arrested, along with eight other men, on conspiracy charges to supply millions of pounds of drugs.
The budding photographer not only captured evidence of his own crimes but shared the photos on EncroChat, an encrypted messaging service that police infiltrated.
