Medicinal marijuana has helped formerly retired basketball great Lauren Jackson get back onto the court, but she will need to secure a medical cannabis exemption to ensure that return has some legs.

The 40-year-old Australian standout was the first overall pick during the 2001 draft for the Women’s National Basketball Association (WNBA). Jackson played 317 games over 12 seasons with the Seattle Storm, before moving to the Opals.
According to The Guardian, what some people have called the WNBA’s best-ever player is also a member of the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame, a three-time WNBA MVP and a 2006 world champion.
