Mother of inmate busted after trying to deliver weed to detention centre

A 48-year-old woman and her 23-year-old accomplice face drug and conspiracy charges after trying to get marijuana and methamphetamine to the woman’s son, currently housed at the Lexington County Detention Center, and a fellow inmate.

“Our crime reduction unit received a tip about (Cassandra) Shanklin planning to get drugs and banned items into the jail,” Sheriff Jay Koon of the Lexington County Sheriff’s Office (LCSO) says in a statement posted on Facebook.
