New Zealand police use helicopter to spray three cannabis plants belonging to elderly couple

A year after police in New Zealand said they would no longer search for cannabis grows using helicopters and planes, the practice has resumed.

The annual aerial hunt had been happening for about 20 years before pausing last year. The national operation has an average cost of about $700,000 and police say they target gang-affiliated, large-scale commercial growers.
