Ontario driver charged with open liquor, possession of over 30 grams of cannabis after single vehicle collision

A 28-year-old driver from Ontario is facing numerous charges after Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a single motor vehicle collision late last month.

The driver is due in court later this month.

In July, a 40-year-old man was arrested on several drug charges after police stopped his vehicle in Kenora, Ont.

Acting on a tip from the public, police found the man unconscious behind the wheel of a parked vehicle with no plates.

Police seized cocaine, hydromorphone and almost $5,000 in cash. The man faced six charges, including possession of cannabis for the purpose of selling, and possession of hydromorphone and cocaine for the purpose of trafficking.

He was also charged with two counts of failure to comply with a release order and possession of property obtained by crime.

In June, public tips again led to the arrest of an impaired driver.
