Police seize cannabis, psilocybin after raiding condo in Toronto’s Liberty Village

A Toronto drug investigation has led to a raid on a residential unit in Liberty Village and the arrest of a 25-year-old man.

According to the Toronto Police Service,Criminal Code search warrant was executed under the Cannabis Act last month and officers recovered 38 kilograms of cannabis, nearly 5 kg of psilocybin, 94 kg of marijuana derivatives and 2.6 kg of cannabis concentrates.

The 25-year-old now faces six charges, including distributing cannabis over 30 grams, possession for the purpose of selling and possession of proceeds of crime over $5,000.

Under the federal Cannabis Act, a distribution charge can lead to a maximum sentence of 14 years in prison and a $100,000 fine.

The man was scheduled to appear in court earlier this week.
