Canadian researchers exploring whether or not prenatal cannabis use disorders (CUDs) before and during pregnancy may predict future road traffic injuries in children have identified and increased association.

Investigators, all of whom are based in Montreal, looked at 792,082 children in Quebec, with more than 6.2 million years of follow-up between 2006 and 2019. They considered transport-related injuries among children between birth and 13 years of age who were in crashes involving cars, pick-up trucks, vans, motorcycles and three-wheeled motor vehicles.
