RCMP arrest three, shut down B.C. cannabis distributor

An investigation into an alleged B.C.-based “marijuana brokerage” that began last year has resulted in three arrests.

“The safety and protection of our community is of paramount concern to the Richmond RCMP,” an RCMP spokesperson said in a statement.

“Investigations into illegal marijuana operations are complex and highly specialized, but can often have a nexus to organized crime and poses a potential risk to public safety,” the spokesperson added.

Last year, six people were charged after a string of major clandestine drug lab busts in the city of about 217,000. Large quantities of amphetamines, fentanyl and other drugs, including 10 kilograms of cannabis, were seized over the course of that investigation.
