Report: Cancer survivor who was busted for more than a kilogram of weed sentenced

An Australian woman who was using cannabis to ease her cancer-related symptoms and mental stress has been ordered to pay $1,200 after police found 1.2 kilograms of weed on her property on Aug. 25.

Carole Dawn Oddy, 59, pleaded guilty to possession of a prohibited drug and possession of drug paraphernalia and was handed an AU$1,200 ($1,100) fine, according to ABC News.

The police reportedly were carrying out a welfare check when the bud was found.
