Sessions Cannabis hosts food drive for food bank

Sessions Cannabis in Elliot Lake, Ont. and its customers are helping to feed the community’s hungry.

Between Sept. 27 and Oct. 10, Sessions Cannabis held a food drive for the Elliot Lake Emergency Food Bank.

Jay Hamilton, Sessions Cannabis franchise owner in Elliot Lake and in Wasaga Beach, says the chain’s 42 stores in Ontario participated in the food drive for local food banks. Hamilton said locally the word spread by word of mouth that it was holding a food drive.

And customers were eager to participate. “Community support was wonderful,” expresses Hamilton.

While it was chain-wide, Hamilton says they were very eager to take part. “The community has been overwhelmingly supportive of us since we opened in February. So, we wanted to do a little something, and we wanted to be a part of the community.”
