Someone dumped dozens of cannabis plants beside a roadway in the U.K.

A concerned citizen reported something fishy seemed to be going on next to a road in Ingham, U.K. this past weekend and when officers showed up to check things out, they found 30 to 40 discarded cannabis plants.

Although medicinal marijuana is legal throughout the U.K., albeit with serious access issues, recreational cannabis remains off-limits. Supplying or producing a Class B drug like cannabis carries a maximum penalty of 14 years in prison, an unlimited fine or both.

Officers seized the bags, which contained an estimated 30 to 40 cannabis plants, and the contents were to be examined by police. No word on the identity of the cultivator and/or dumper.

It’s certainly not the first time that green-thumbed individuals have dumped cannabis plants or related trash by roadways.
