A suspicious boat and duffel bag exchange close to the St. Lawrence River last December kicked off an investigation by the RCMP and Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) that has ended with one man being charged.

In a statement issued this week, the RCMP reports an investigation by the Cornwall Regional Task Force (CRTF) resulted in members observing a suspicious boat making landfall in the Summertown area, not far from Cornwall, Ont., on Dec. 14, 2021.
