THC and inflammation: What does the relationship between the two mean for health?

Cannabis is an anti-inflammatory agent and the plant has long been associated with a variety of benefits related to pain and inflammation. The compound’s effect on inflammation has reportedly helped people manage symptoms of chronic pain, injury recovery and more.

While marijuana’s effects on inflammation may be less than that provided by opioids or other medications, the main perk that weed offers is that it generally provides no significant side effects.

“For me, the major benefits of cannabis are as an anti-inflammatory and the relief from pain, headaches and other concussion symptoms that I still have years after suffering a bunch of them,” football player Eugene Monroe told Playboy.
