Three face drug charges in Simcoe

Three people are facing drug charges after police searched a property in the Ontario community of Simcoe on Monday.

Police recovered a quantity of illicit drugs, cash and stolen property in the search of a Metcalfe St. property led by members of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Haldimand/Norfolk Community Street Crime Unit.

“Our Community Street Crimes Unit has been very effective with proactive illicit drug investigations. This is yet another example that highlights how the police and the community continue to work in partnership to resolve crime,” Inspector Rob Scott, interim detachment commander of the Norfolk County OPP, said in a media release.

Four people were taken into custody without incident. Three were subsequently charged with a variety of offences.

A 58-year-old Norfolk man has been charged with drug trafficking and possession, as well as possession of cannabis for the purpose of selling.
