TobaGrown to launch not-for-profit cannabis products in Manitoba

TobaGrown is taking its fight to enable Manitobans to grow cannabis at home by launching what it claims are Canada’s first not-for-profit legal cannabis products.

“A provincial government that denies its citizens the right to grow their four federally legal cannabis plants is on a slippery slope to removing other personal freedoms,” Av Singh, an expert witness for TobaGrown, said at the time.

That’s where the new, not-for-profit line of products for the Manitoba market comes in.

“All of TobaGrown’s profits will be used to fund our legal bills for our cases, with all remaining profits being donated to multiple local and national charities,” company founder Jesse Lavoie said in a statement. Those charities include Winnipeg Harvest, True North Aid, Manitoba Métis Heritage Fund, Habitat for Humanity Manitoba and Seth Rogen’s Hilarity for Charity.
