“We are presently looking at people out in our community, serving sentences, having illegal firearms, who then, while serving sentences in the community, go out and commit more crimes, sometimes killing people. That’s a problem in my view. As the Chief, I’m telling you, this is a problem. We have violent offenders in our community, serving sentences, and then go out to commit more crimes, and in some cases have taken life.”
