The top two cannabis multi-state operators (MSO) in the U.S. posted huge revenue gains in 2021 over the previous year as they expanded in high-growth markets and filled gaps in their geographic footprints through small and large acquisitions.
The two big companies are Green Thumb Industries (GTBIF) and Trulieve Cannabis (TCNNF). These companies are the only US-based MSOs that managed to turn a profit in 2021.
In contrast, companies like Cresco Labs (CRLBF) and Columbia Care (CCHWF) reported significant losses as they increased production, opened new stores, and acquired additional licenses or operations in key markets.
