A stormwater drain might have seemed the perfect hiding spot for an Australian man who allegedly drove his vehicle into the side of a business, but proved a bust when police discovered both him and his illegal goods.
The man has been charged with driving a motor vehicle during a disqualification period, not complying with a direction to stop/move, and possessing house-breaking implements. He was refused bail after appearing in local court and is scheduled to reappear on Jan. 21, 2022.
Cannabis is federally illegal in Australia.
While the police did not specify how much weed was found, a person in New South Wales who has never been caught with cannabis before, and is found with less than 15 grams and reports the drug is for personal use, could get off with a caution, according to the Australian Criminal Law Group.
