The coronavirus pandemic is claiming the old and young throughout the world. It is affecting almost every sector of the global economy. In the cannabis world, the health crisis has resulted in the death of Charlotte Figi. Figi is the little girl who inspired the low-THC medical marijuana strain known as ‘Charlotte’s Web.’

Many of her family members tested positive for this virus, according to sources close to the family. As of April 7, at least 179 people had lost their lives after contracting the deadly virus according to the official reports by the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment.

Figi had previously suffered hundreds of grand mal seizures before finding a viable solution. Her parents, exhausted from heavy-duty drugs, decided to seek help from the southern Colorado-based Stanley Brothers. The Stanley Brothers, in the end, engineered the non-psychoactive CW Hemp in 2011.

The advent of the CW Hemp plant encouraged hundreds of families to flock to Colorado. They went there seeking alternative treatment for various health issues, including seizures, a little while after Colorado legalized medical marijuana.

Figi started having seizures when she was just three months old. She was suffering from Dravet Syndrome. After she began taking oil from Charlotte’s Web, her seizures reduced significantly to two to three per month.

One Figi family friend on April 7 said publicly on Facebook:

“Charlotte is no longer suffering. She is seizure-free forever.”
