Here’s how many Medicare patients use cannabis, even though it’s not covered

A new report shows that Medicare users and medical marijuana patients have a lot in common.

Two-thirds of those polled said they agreed with a statement that medical marijuana should be covered by Medicare.

Interestingly, current medical marijuana users aren’t all that keen on having Medicare cover cannabis. Their responses suggest that Medicare coverage could increase the price of the product, resulting in them paying more in the long run for their preferred product.

Survey results also indicate that 31 per cent of Medicare users oppose the plan’s coverage of marijuana, citing a lack of research and knowledge on the drug as the main reason for their reticence.
